The World Largest Steelmaker Arcelor Mittal Protected by ACTi IP Surveillance System
Arcelor Mittal is the largest tubular factory in the world which is based in Romania, Arcelor Mittal has installed the security system by SC Electro Universe SCM. The centralized video surveillance system includes 3 units of ACD-2200 (4 channel video server), 4 units of SED-2140T (1 channel video server with extended temperature), and 8 units of ACM-1431P (IP bullet camera with IR LED); total 26 equipments managed by the centralized monitoring system.
The stream of IP cameras and video servers are transmitted through a fiber optic network with a total length of about 10 kilometers and the security manager uses this IP surveillance system to monitor the access and key places in this factory.
A subsystem consisting of the 8 ACTI 1431 IP Cameras is functional for about 2 years, and is connected to the central system via a wireless connection, with an up-time of 9-10 months, and so far the system works very well during the past 2 years.
For locations with extreme variations in temperature (-30 degrees Celsius in winter to +60 degrees Celsius in the summer in function), the customer used ACTi SED-2140T (Temperature Resistance Model) Video Servers to protect the surveillance works perfectly under extremely condition.
Manager from SC Electro Universe SCM has mentioned that, when selecting video servers for this project, we have tested many brands in the market and finally chose ACTi solutions, ”It is the State of ART” Technical Director Daniel said. Because of the excellent performance of ACTI equipments in very low lighting conditions and very reasonable price.
